Week 37 (11 - 17 September)
Dear readers, As you already read it, my name is Augustin Hoet or the Finnish version : Aukusti. I arrived in Finland at the Helsinki airport on 24 August. My home is located in Laajasalo, far from the city centre, but I'm lucky to live in a beautiful neighborhood! You've also probably read it in the beginning of my blog, but I'll tell you again for the ones that read too quickly. I'm a Belgian student studying marketing in Brussels. I'm on my third bachelor degree, and I chose to specialize myself in Business in a Digital Environment in Finland. Your first question might be : Why would he go to Finland? My first international business experience was in Germany when I participated to an international business week in partnership with Mercedes-benz. I met a lot of people, different nationalities, other cultures, new ways of thinking, and working. What made me think about my Erasmus destination is my meeting with some Finnish and Swedish people. I particularly enjoyed working (& partying) with two Finnish students. I admired their open mind, their perseverance, and the way they analyzed problems. After one week, I felt I needed more time to discover this culture and the Finnish education system (which, everybody knows, has a very good reputation). Of course, I'm also very excited about discovering Lapland, and the Northern Aurorea Borealis, and every part of this magnificent Finnish nature ;) Now you have your answer, let's move on to your second question : Why would he start a blog? My friends will be surprised to see I've started a blog because this is a first in my life! To answer it, I'm going to refer to our two first lectures we had on the second week of September. During our first lecture, we discovered this course, and especially what was expected from us. We also made great teams for our team assignments, and we had the chance to meet our very friendly Finnish classmates. Our first task was to make a little introduction video that I will post later. I'm happy we made a funny video. During the same lecture, Anna Nolvi (our amazing teacher), told us we would have to start a blog as a permanent personal task for this semestre. So here I am, writing my first post, and editing my new blog that I will update every week from now on. Of course, we were lucky to have a second lecture later to discover tips & tricks about making videos and blogging. I'm very interesting in discovering, and applying the theory we learned. That's it for today. This was my first post on the first blog I've ever made in my life. I hope you enjoyed reading me!
