Let’s take a look at the last week of this amazing first month in Finland! As usual, on Monday, we had our lectures at Otaniemi Campus. We had a presentation by Vanessa Lehtinen, the Head of Digital Customer Experience from Telia. She was a previous Business Management student, and had an interesting presentation about the importance of the customer experience expansion in companies. Hanan Naeem, the CEO of Drizzlez Inc. was our second lecturer. He talked about his company, and how his job evolved. Our last lecturer, Fareem Iftikhar, the developer of the Vid Octopus app, that we already met, had a very interesting presentation about the internet free tools we could use to analyze a website, and a websites views in 5 minutes. That night we made a delicious dinner with red wine to enjoy our last evening with Lisa. The next day was my last day with my girlfriend. We had to clean the AirBnb, and leave this beautiful Arabia neighborhood. We went to the airport, and she left at 20 o’clock…
On Wednesday, I took a day off. I had to work, and to focus on my blog. 28 September was our second lesson at Leppävaara Campus. We started our Teamwork 2, and continued the happiness video. Our lecturer was Christopher Evatt. He is a CEO, company founder, inspirational speaker, mentor, trainer, lecturer, advisor, to put it short, an amazing guy. His lecture was about his personal experience during the business part of his life.
Last day of the week, I realized September was almost over. I did a lot of blogging, and worked a lot on my “throwback on my first month” project. In the evening, we celebrated Sofia’s birthday. We had a little Etkot at the HOAS Club, and left after for the real party: the Latina Party in Helsinki City on the Ravintolalaiva Wäiski Boat & Dancing Club. That night was very pleasant, we had a lot of fun. Now be ready for my last weekend of September! On Saturday, we went to Tallinn in Estonia with the Forenom Team, Fedra, and Johanna. We took the Eckerö Line ferry to arrive there at 11 o’clock. I almost forgot to tell you that I missed my first bus in the morning at 7 am, that I also forgot my passport, had to run 2km back to the house, and that I arrived 2 min before the ferry doors closed. But it’s not the most interesting part ;) We arrived in the Tallinn Old City to start our visit. Here is a summary of all the places we visited. Start at the Coca Cola Plaza, then the Viru Gate, the Hellemann Tower and Town Wall Walkway, the Tallinn Town Hall, the Town Hall Square Raekoja plats, the Noelasilma Gate, the Saint Nicholas’s Church, and eventually the Saint Michael’s Church to end our morning tour. We ate at the unexpected Korsaar Pirate-ship Unique Nordic Restaurant. It was delicious, and well decorated. In the afternoon, we visited the Danish Kings Garden Park, followed by the Aleksander Nevski Cathedral (Estonian Orthodox Church of Moscow), the Parliament of Estonia, the Saint Marie of Tallinn Cathedral, the Piiskopi Viewing Platform, the Patkuli Stairs, the Patkuli Viewing Platform, the Tallinna Linnamüür, the Sauna Tower, the Tower Square, the Tornide Valjäk Parc, the Köismäe Tower, the Eppingi Tower, the Great Guild Historical Museum Eesti Ajaloomuuseumi Suurgildi Hoone, the House of Black Heads of Tallinn, the Russian Museum Tallinn, the Saint Olaf / Oleviste Church, the Estonian Marine Museum, and we ended at the Super Alko Shop. We were very exhausted but happy about our trip. We left Tallinn at 18.30 pm. When we arrived, I noticed the Tyynenmerentori Helsinki Statue in the harbor. It made me think about a very high Finnish Manneke Pis. We decided to eat some pizza’s together at Johanna’s place, and started the Etkot there. In the Otaniemi Campus, a big party was going on, the Lakinlaskijaiset 2017 Party. After our Etkot, we decided to go dancing outside! That’s how we landed in a party under a bridge called the Aalto After Party 2017 @ Täffä Alikulku Bileet. The night was awesome! To clean our bodies, and heads, we went on Sunday to a lake in Kirkkonummi to do some fishing! The whole Erasmus group came to that lake. Lauri, an amazing tutor and friend, asked his brother Joel to join to teach all of us how to fish. We were very lucky to learn so much because we all could try out the different ways to fish. We left when the sun was going down to go back at our places, and catch up some sleep after that fantastic weekend.
That’s it for my first month summary! I hope you enjoyed discovering what I did in Finland during one month. Stay tuned because there is more coming! See you soon :)
