Week 38, meaning from 18 September till the 24th, our schedule is fixed from now on. It stays like that every week with, on Monday, and Thursday, lectures at our different campuses. My week started with our third lectures on Monday at the Otaniemi Campus. Minni Ruhtinas, a Development Manager of Telia, one of the dominant telecom companies, made a huge presentation about her company, and her job. She also introduced our first big case. We must now work on some topics from Telia, and give 3 presentations in October to show our result. Afterwards, I went for a short walk in our own Otaniemi campus park. Tuesday was a wonderful day. My girlfriend Lisa arrived in Helsinki to visit me! I met her at the airport, and together we travelled to our AirBnB. After some rest, we went the next day in the Toukola area to visit the Toukolan park, and the Lammassaari lake. In the evening, Laureamko organized the second Shadow Freshman Party 2! I presented all my new exchange friends to my girlfriend, and after a whole afternoon of funny activities, the Erasmus group went to the after party at Kaivohuone Discotheque. Lots of them had a hangover on Thursday, but they had to pay attention because we had three important lectures. Our second cases were presented by three highly interesting persons. Juha Ritvala, an Asian Business Guru, he explained us a lot about the difference in business between Asia and Europe. He went through his whole professional life, and all the companies or events he created. Olivier Béaslas, a French professional photographer, presented us his work, how he started to take pictures, and how a passion became his work. We had the opportunity to be photographed by him. Our last lecturer, Fareem Iftikhar, the developer of the Vid Octopus app, had a very interesting presentation about Full Stack Growth Hackers (see my other post about his lecture for more information). On Friday, Lisa and I went to Laajasalo. I showed her the place around, and we had a lovely meal in the evening with Hannele and Pekka. We were lucky to enjoy my fourth sunset together. 23 September was a fully planned day. Lisa had a guided city tour of Helsinki given by me. We visited all the main places, and took a lot of pictures because the weather was very sunny! We also enjoyed the delicious smells from the international market next to the railway station. In the afternoon, we took a ferry to go to the Suomenlinna island. We walked there a few hours, and enjoyed one of the most beautiful sunsets we could have had. The next day was a rest day, but we decided to go back in the afternoon to the Toukolan park, and the Lammassaari lake to enjoy the sun.
