Week 42 (16 – 22/10)
Hey guys! Long week behind my back! I’ve been working on several projects. Monday, we had our weekly lesson at the Otaniemi university. This week has been special because our lectures were about law. Marjaana Marmo made us the introduction lecture about all the basic theory we should know when it comes to law. We learned about legal basic concepts, binding contracts, contractual competences, contract annulments, sales contracts, property, and some other basic information. We also made a little exercise with our teacher to acquire the theory we learned. That night, we celebrated the birthday of one of our Erasmus members, Marina Mestres! We had a lot of fun. On Wednesday, I worked with my group on our Telia presentation for Monday, and on some law assignments we received. I realized this week that the winter had arrived. The temperatures are now below zero at night, and maximum 5 degrees during the day. I can really feel the cold especially when I come back late at night from parties!
Thursday was another law-day with our lesson in Otaniemi. Dr. Mahone and Sonia were the surprise guests that afternoon. They are both from Barbados (it’s an island in the Antilles in the Caribbean region of North America). We also had some information about that new country, their university, and how they enjoyed their exchange program. Their lectures were also about the evolution of technology in the business world, and how the competition is now based around the consumer and not the price any more. It was interesting, finally something different from law, which I confess, isn’t really my cup of tea. I’ve also been working on our online course this weekend. We should make an elevator pitch about an innovative digital service. I had a great idea and started working on it Friday. I’ve finally ended and posted my video. Next week I’ll be in Saint Petersburg! My trip is almost totally prepared. I’m really excited to discover this part of Russia!
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Next week we will have our first snowfall in Helsinki! Bye!
