Week 45 (06/11 – 12/11)
Hey everybody! This week was more relaxing compared to the past 2 big ones we had. The report and presentations rush has ended. We had a few days to catch our breath. On Monday, Paraskevi Bakalopulos represented her company called Rallis Fur.
Very sadly, she spoke in Finnish so the Erasmus people couldn’t understand anything she said. She talked about the social media strategy of her company she took over from her father, and the importance of setting goals to support actions.
The next lecture was given by Anna Nolvi. It was about social media marketing.

She told how important emotions are in marketing, and especially in social media. Then, we had some explanations about the main channels to reach customers (B2C) and companies (B2B). You can understand the two channels by reading the text on the picture.

Anna Nolvi moved on to the differences between inbound marketing (new) vs outbound marketing (old).

We also watched a TED conference about the golden circle. We could compare it to the Maslow pyramid.

There were a few big changes in social media the past 5 years. To put it short, here are some recent statistics that show the most interesting numbers.

To conclude that day, we had a last lecture from Faheem Iftikhar who talked about website designing and UX (User Experience) design. He also briefly taught us how to analyze the clients from our website which should be the first step before creating any website or content.

Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding for the next lesson. Namely, we usually have lectures on Monday and Thursday every week. But, this time, we were supposed to come to the university on Wednesday! Nobody knew about that, so Anna Nolvi, cancelled the Wednesday’s class. It gave us some more days to rest and to enjoy a good weekend. I enjoyed it by meeting with all our Erasmus group and our tutors at Toni’s place. Toni is one of our tutors, and a very good DJ! We had an amazing night all together. On Sunday, I was lucky to go to the Finland vs Canada ice hockey match! It was an amazing match with a lot of close actions. The goals were beautiful especially the last one Finland made. I’m very happy Finland won this match 4 - 3 against a strong Canadian team. This was it! I know it is a bit shorter than what you are used to. But, when a full day of lectures is being cancelled, there is less content to talk about. See you next week with a special news for you guys!
